Create a Budget
The first thing you want to do is create a budget. At this stage, you’ll need to determine how much you can afford to spend on getting a car. If you’re planning on having a trade-in, avoid stating it during the early stage of negotiations. You’ll want to agree on a price first. Everything else can come after.
Avoid Getting Add-Ons at the Dealership
This is a mistake most people make. After the whole process of getting the dealer to agree on a price, they conclude the sale. Already tired, the dealer introduces other add-ons to you. At this stage, you don’t want to fall prey to this trick. Your best bet is to get back home.
You can always buy it later when you’re refreshed and well aware of the cost. You’ll even be able to negotiate better.
Once you do this, you’ll find it easier to get the best bargain as you look to get a new car.
